Hypergridding is possible between most public grids. Of course there are those private grids, kind of like gated communities. Sometimes you look the same when you arrive and sometimes you get a little mutated.

SL Firewalls resemble those in many School Districts – kinda.

There is something of a resemblance between some Second Life locations and school districts. The tell-tale sign is the appearance of these impenetrable borders – Those “firewalls” won’t let anyone or anything in.

Reaction Grid is not an allergic reaction but my reaction was one of alarm when I showed up to visit a build I was working on and all I saw was the sea. Easy come easy go, kinda like properties in real life.

Cloud Party – a little cloudy yet.

Cloud Party is the new kid on the block. A facebook based virtual world that is a tad cloudy yet. Here was a recent visit. Kae saw the founder and tried to snap his picture. We see Kae – we don’t see Cory….maybe in the cloud?

I visited inWorldz once…. saw a guy tied up and thought they might come after me next so I bolted.

Clearly, Minecraft is an example that evolution is real. Looks like Lego has not gone the way of the DoDo bird, post office, and Borders Books – they have evolved.

The DOE steps in

All this activity in Virtual worlds has made the state departments of education rear it’s quirky head. They are catching on and want to do what they do best….apply standards, develop unfunded mandates, and align. They are working on a multiple choice assessment of Virtual world facts to ensure that standards are met and all the fun is gone.
