On December 11 at 9 PM EST ISTE SIGVE in partnership with G.A.M.E. (Gamers Advancing Meaningful Education) will host a Connected Hour using Google Hangout, Second LIfe, Youtube, and an array a kid friendly games. The December Connected Hour is the third in a series that started in August as an offshoot of the Federal Connected Educators Month. Educators will be meeting in Second Life at the SIGVE Diner to watch the live stream and to chat and forward questions to the presenters. Those interested can also watch on Youtube and of course ask question in the chat.
The event will last one hour and brings six youngsters aged 7-16 to the live-stream to explain a game played online. Each child selected the game they wanted to show and is prepared to take viewers on a tour. Moms and dads will be nearby so questions from the audience can be directed at parents as well as to the kids. Be prepared for a child’s viewpoint of the following games First in Math, Club Penguin, Poptropica, Wizard 101, and Kerbal Space Program.
It went well and kids war connected via Google Hangout. They had no trouble navigating their selected game, Hangout, audio and text chat.
